Coming in 2007, exclusively packed into new and improved Napoleonic Era mod for Age of Empires III: The War Chiefs, is an exciting new epic campaign that tells the story of the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire.

Lake of Blood
___________________
Unlike the Age of Empires II: The Conquerors version of the story, Lake of Blood will tell the story in the point of view of a Spanish soldier named Fernando Suelto. While Suelto may be a fictional character, he represents the few renegade Spaniards who defied Hernan Cortes? corrupt desires to tear down an exotic and rich empire. The storyline does not stray too far from the actual events that occurred during the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire, so players won't find themselves stuck wandering off into a fictional story trying to find El Dorado or*ahem* the Fountain of Youth. Players will start off playing under Hernan Cortes' command until Fernando Suelto begins to resent the intentions of Cortes. Suelto eventually leaves Cortes with a few renegade followers and joins the Aztecs. As many people would guess, the ending is rather predictable, but I'll just leave that for everyone to assume.
The campaign is rather small with only nine scenarios, but Lake of Blood will be completely unique with new playing elements and plenty of eye candy to keep you wowed.
Stay tuned for updates on both Napoleonic Era and Lake of Blood!
